The Unexpected Discounted Ticket in Universal Studios in Singapore
Coming from our weekend trip in Kuala Lumpur, my cousins and I arrived at Universal Studios around 2pm. That meant we still have 5 hours to enjoy one of the best theme parks in Asia. We first had a mandatory photoshoot with the globe which took about almost an hour.
Afterwards, we lined up in the ticket booth. A Taiwanese woman around her 30s suddenly approached us and asked if we wanted to buy an entrance pass for 30SGD (regular entrance costs 74SGD, online price is around 68SGD). My cousins and I exchanged message by looking at each other. You know what I mean. We thought we were being scammed. So we asked her why so cheap? She said that her friends backed out the last minute and it would be a waste if she will throw the tickets away. We said 'no' because we didn't want to risk it. We're in a foreign country where we don't know anyone so it's better to be safe than sorry. The woman insisted that there won't be any risk since we can pay her once we have entered Universal Studios plus she'll be coming with us because she has a membership card. So yah, we did take the risk of buying a 30SGD ticket. She gave each of us our ticket and we entered Universal Studios Singapore. We weren't scammed!!! We forgot we're in Singapore! A place where honesty is everywhere! We paid her 30SGD each and thanked her. Turned out the ticket she gave us is a two consecutive day pass. Maybe she's a tour guide and the ticket was already used by other tourist and again used by us. Both parties benefit, she earned profit and we had more than 50% discount. What an amazing day to start our Universal Studio experience!
We first visited the Minion Mart where they sell different kinds of super cute minion stuff. Next was a photo op in Madagascar. I loved looking everywhere! The huge trees that I only saw in the movie seems so real! Next was our very first ride - Enchanted Airways. A one round of roller coaster in far far away. We went inside the castle and found out that it's a 4D theater. My first 4D experience ever! I've experienced 2D, 3D and IMAX but not 4D! The show was about Shrek and I definitely felt I was in the movie. Donkey's saliva splashed on us when he sneezed. Ew!
We were there on a Sunday and the theme park was not really crowded. The flow of queue was moderate to fast so it's good that we didn't buy the express pass. Also, maybe because November is an off peak season.
Egypt, Madagascar, Sesame Street, American Diner
We also had a roller coaster ride in the Lost World. It was also a one round trip. I just hoped that the rides were at least two rounds. Sadly, the biggest roller coaster of the theme park which is located in the Sci-Fi city was closed few years ago for maintenance until now. So we decided to have photo op everywhere. The most picturesque place was New York City! I haven't been to New York and if this is how NY looks like, or much better in person, I would totally be in awe!
We finished our day tour with souvenir shopping and having burgers and shakes for dinner! I would totally recommend putting Universal Studios Singapore on top of your list when you visit Singapore. It's for everyone! This theme park brought out the kid in me. The feeling of having pleasure from being scared was something that everyone needs to be stress free! You can just scream for no apparent reason and next thing you know, you're having fun! Don't worry about food and drinks too as there are stalls inside the theme park everywhere. More expensive than the usual price though you need not to go out of the park to buy snacks within the Resorts World Complex. Do visit Universal Studios when in Singapore. It's so worth it!
'Til my next post! Byee!
