Market Café, Hyatt Hotel and Casino

I took advantage of Deal Grocer's discounted price of buffet in Market Cafe, Hyatt Hotel and Casino. The regular price is Php1,800 (weekend and weekday dinner time) and P1,600 (weekday lunch time). The offer was only Php1,000 per coupon so it was a good steal. We called the cafe to reserve a table to assure that we don't have to wait if ever the place gets crowded.

What's unique in Market Cafe is that they have live show kitchens that offer Chinese, Japanese, Western, Korean and Filipino dishes and desserts. When I hear the word "live show kitchen" I expect something cool. Like tossing ingredients then boom! haha! something like that. But I didn't see that in Market Cafe. The chefs look like they're so serious and not enjoying serving their guests.

Contemporary interior. I love the warm and cozy feel.

Knowing Hyatt is one of the 5 star hotels here in Manila, I was shocked when we got in the place because there were only few people dining. Then I thought, maybe that was the reason why they had a promotion. Anyway, I so love the interior design, they're going to be one of my inspirations when I get to have my own house ;)

To start our buffet, we had a cup of cream and mushroom soup. The taste was nothing special but it's my favorite soup so I still liked it. I also liked the idea of serving their soups in a pot, just like what Filipinos use back in the days.

Meat section. Here we go!

All meat (if I'm not mistaken) are raw. You could tell the chef on how you want it cookedI told myself that I won't be eating a lot of meat because I wanted to eat more of their gastronomic desserts! We asked the meat chef to cook 2 medium sized steaks and skewers for us. It came with a gravy sauce.

Steak ans Chicken Skewers without skews (I removed it hehe)

Their steak is not that juicy and tasty. They should ask an advice from Outback Steakhouse's chef.

Next in line is seafood. Their raw seafood is displayed  on a separate table filled with ice to keep it fresh. Just like in the meat section, you could tell the chef on how you want your seafood cooked.

Tempura

I love tempura, whenever we eat at an Asian restaurant we always opt to try their tempura. This one is not salty but it consists a lot of flour.

Fried Shrimp

Oh yes! Don't miss this. I hope I watched the chef cooked this so I know the ingredients he put on this super tasty shrimp!

Baked Oyster

There are many ways on how to cook an oyster but the only way I know and I'm sure that it will turn out yummy is by baking. So we told the chef that we want the oysters baked. I was right! It turned out irresistible. This was my favorite dish of all the food we tried.

After trying out some of their meat and seafood, our stomach was already full. We had a chat for few minutes while waiting for our tummies to give us space for dessert. After having a very little space, we head on to the dessert table! I was so excited! I felt like a kid seeing a cotton candy for the first time. The desserts are mouthwatering.

Chocolate Fondue with gummies and chocolates around it.

Filipino Dessert. I'm not a fan of sticky desserts so I didn't try any of these. :D

Some more dessert :>

and more dessert.

We tried their creme caramel. It's a small serving of leche flan topped with caramel and some nuts.

Macarons!

I love the presentation. Clear huge jar half filled with sugar, very Parisian. We tried all flavors of their macarons! yumm!

Also tried their coffee jelly and this galaxy-like cake! We also had a cheesecake and brownie.

Different flavors of ice cream and three kinds of sprinkles.

We had the dulce de leche ice cream topped with the colorful sprinkles.

Overall, the food is great, especially the oysters! hehe. I really loved those. Also the dessert table, it was simply amazing. The presentation of food is also creative. The place is clean and great for gatherings. If you want a quiet buffet dining then Market Cafe might suit your needs.
