Two years ago, I visited this place together with my college friends. This June 2015, I had the chance to come back but this time, a spontaneous day trip with my family. Baler is a simple and relaxing place with a laid back lifestyle. The locals are very friendly and everything seemed to be priced just right. This place holds a special place in my heart since this is where I first learned how to surf. Join my family as we surf the Baler waves care of Aliya Surf Resort and as we visit the heritage places, Manuel L. Quezon's mansion and Museo De Baler. Day trip in Baler is only possible if you're coming from nearby provinces. In our case, we drove all the way from our province Nueva Ecija which took around 3-4 hours of super fun roller coaster-like ride.
We stayed at Aliya Surf Resort, one of the oldest resorts in Baler. We also took their surfing lessons for 350/hour including surfboard, rashguard and instructor's fee. We had lunch at their restaurant while watching the waves splash. My family enjoyed swimming in the resort's newly renovated infinity pool where they took a lot of fun underwater shots.
Before heading home, we took a visit at Baler's church and visited President Manuel L Quezon's vintage mansion which is just located in front of the church. There, we had a lot of photo opts inside the vintage house. We also saw the former president's vintage presidential car. Fee was 30 pesos per person but entrance fee in the town's museum is included in the price. Which leads us to our last destination Museo De Baler, which served us our play area (we made fun of the things and took lots of creative photos).
Last stop was the souvenir market. Then we went home since it was raining and roads were steep and dangerous in dark hours. Our short and spontaneous trip in Baler was very memorable and fun! Here's to more family adventures!
