Growing up in Saudi Arabia, I know how the best shawarma tastes. It's very far from the shawarma we find in malls. It doesn't have mayonaise, not dripping in oil and has generous meat filling. I'm glad to share to everyone, that after roaming around Metro Manila and looking for the best shawarma in town, we finally found it! Not exactly like the ones from Saudi Arabia but almost! Almost the same. The taste, the smell and the filling. Guess what? The owner also grew up in Saudi Arabia. My boyfriend who always buys his shawarma here, had a little chat with the owner. He's from IPSR (International Philippine School in Riyadh) which is just few hours drive from our town in Saudi Arabia. It's not actually my first time in this place. It's only now that I decided to blog about it.
The place was average and simple. It has bright yellow walls, brown couch and some stainless set of tables. The menu's written on the black board.
We had a taste of their new addition in the menu, Kabsa. Kabsa is a staple food in Saudi Arabia. It consists of kabsa rice and your choice of roasted or grilled chicken and a tomato sauce on side. We also ordered two chicken shawarma. Simply the best! Their garlic sauce tastes exactly the same with the ones being served in KSA. Boy shawarma just earned two loyal customers :)
Kabsa with Half Roasted Chicken (Php225)
Garlic Sauce (Php15)
Chicken Shawarma (Php70 each)
We just came from Bry's basketball game (they won!) that's why we look so hagard. I'm glad we ran in here after the intense game. Basketball win + comfort food = love. This day just can't get any better!
